Tech Mahindra Interview Experience | Set 8

Tech Mahindra, one of India's leading IT firms, conducts a comprehensive recruitment process designed to assess the skills, capabilities, and personality traits of candidates. Below is a detailed breakdown of the various stages involved in the process:

Online Aptitude Test

The initial stage involves an online aptitude test consisting of multiple-choice questions. This test evaluates both quantitative aptitude and general English skills. The aptitude section focuses on problem-solving and logical reasoning, while the English section assesses language proficiency and comprehension.

Technical and Psychological Tests Online

The next phase is an online technical test, which includes three sections that cover data structures, DBMS, and cloud computing, each with 15-minute time slots. These sections test the candidate's foundational knowledge and understanding of key concepts in these areas.

Additionally, there are two coding problems involving arrays and strings, which range from easy to moderate difficulty. These problems are designed to evaluate the candidate's coding skills and problem-solving ability.

Following the technical test, candidates must complete a psychological test consisting of 72 questions. This test is aimed at evaluating the candidate’s personality and their suitability for the role within the organization.

Communication Test

This round assesses the candidate’s fluency and articulation in speech, which is essential for effective communication in the IT sector. The test helps interviewers gauge how well candidates can express themselves verbally in a professional setting.

Technical Interview

The technical interview focuses on assessing the candidate's knowledge of data structures, DBMS, and the domain-specific programming language. Additionally, interviewers may ask questions related to Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles and memory allocation. This interview gives candidates another opportunity to demonstrate their technical expertise and problem-solving skills.

HR Interview

The final stage is the HR interview, which assesses the candidate's personality and cultural fit within the company. Some of the common questions asked in this interview include:

  • Why do you want to work at Tech Mahindra?
  • How do you perceive Tech Mahindra compared to its competitors?
  • What sets you apart from other candidates for this position?
  • Have you held any leadership roles in the past, and what were your key takeaways from those experiences?
  • How would you rate your speaking and writing skills?
  • What area of software development or testing do you specialize in?
  • Why did you choose software development or testing as your career path?
  • What personal qualities do you possess that would help you succeed in our working environment?
  • Can you describe a recent project you were involved in?

The HR round aims to assess the candidate's alignment with the company’s values and culture, and whether they possess the traits necessary for success at Tech Mahindra.

The entire recruitment process is a holistic evaluation of a candidate’s cognitive abilities, technical proficiency, communication skills, and personality, ensuring that they are not only technically competent but also a good cultural fit for the organization.
