Tech Mahindra conducted a placement drive at our campus, providing students with an excellent opportunity to join a company renowned for its work in technology and digital transformation. The selection process consisted of multiple rounds, each designed to assess various skills. Below is a detailed account of my experience.
Round 1: Aptitude Test and English Essay/Story Writing (90 Minutes)
The first round was divided into three key sections:
Grammar and Aptitude
The test began with a mix of grammar and aptitude-based questions. Successfully completing this part was essential to progress to the next section.
Picture Perception
In this segment, an image was displayed on the screen. The task was to interpret the image and express thoughts in a concise and creative manner.
Clearing this round enabled me to move forward to the next stage, which took place later on the same day.
Round 2: Technical and Psychometric Test (90 Minutes)
This round assessed both technical and psychological attributes, incorporating the following components:
Technical Test
- Coding problems that required logical thinking and efficiency.
- Questions related to Pseudocode, Data Structures and Algorithms (DSA), and fundamental concepts in computer science.
The overall difficulty level was moderate. To succeed, it was crucial to ensure at least 90% of the coding test cases passed, as the questions ranged from easy to moderately challenging.
Psychometric Test
Following the technical section, a psychometric test was conducted to evaluate personality traits and behavioral tendencies. The questions were straightforward, focusing on consistency in responses.
Platform: AMCAT/SHL
Round 3: Conversational Test (30 Minutes)
This stage tested communication skills through various exercises conducted on the AMCAT/SHL platform. The test had seven sections, each requiring active listening and accurate responses. This round was designed to gauge comprehension and conversational ability.
Round 4: Technical Interview (7 Minutes)
The technical interview was concise yet comprehensive, focusing on my technical skills and project experiences. Key questions included:
- Introduction: A brief introduction about myself.
- Project Details: Discussion about the most recent project I worked on, including the problem statement and my role in addressing it.
- Flexibility in Technology: Whether I was comfortable working with different technologies or domains.
The interviewer aimed to assess both my technical knowledge and adaptability.
